Pastor Ken is a fourth-generation Covenanter, the youngest in a family of seven. He grew up in Lincolnwood, Illinois, attending Edgebrook Covenant Church. He attended Junior High at Peterson School in North Park and attended North Park Covenant Church. Pastor Ken’s High School years were spent in the Congo in Africa, as his father was a physician at the Organization of African Unity in the capital city of Kinshasa. After High School, Pastor Ken attended Bethel College in St. Paul, MN, transferring to North Park University and completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy in 1979. Upon graduation, Pastor Ken worked in sales and reservations for two Airlines in Chicago—Air Canada and British Airways. In his thirties, he attended North Park Theological Seminary, graduating with his M.Div. in 1995. Pastor Ken received his Doctor of Ministry in Preaching in 2007, through A.C.T.S. (the Association of Chicago Theological Schools), matriculating through North Park Theological Seminary. In 2011, Pastor Ken received his certificate in Spiritual Direction from the C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction at North Park Theological Seminary. Pastor Ken has served Covenant churches in Ashland, Wisconsin, and Villa Park, Illinois. He retired from full-time pastoral ministry the end of June, 2022. Since retiring, Pastor Ken has served as Interim Pastor at Hope Covenant Church in Crystal Lake and Edgebrook Covenant Church in Chicago. Pastor Ken has been married to Terry (Mary) for the past 40 years, has two grown daughters, adopted from China when they were each one-year-old. Pastor Ken is a life-long guitar player and photography buff.
